The National Center for Animal and Plant Health (CENSA), founded in 1969, is a Science and Technological Innovation institution which belongs to the Ministry of Higher Education in Cuba.

It is a center of excellence in the development of R+D+i systems, from the training of a highly qualified staff, both nationally and internationally. It has achieved scientific-technical results of great impact on the prevention, diagnosis, and control of pests and diseases, food safety, and on the preparation and adaptation to climate change as well.

Un día como hoy pero de 1969 nace el proyecto CENSA, con un grupo de médicos recién graduados; que se incorporan a los laboratorios del Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas (CENIC), para atender a un llamado del Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz, y dar respuestas a la problemática ganadera del país.

CENSA, 51 años de labor científica ininterrumpida, Contribuyendo  a preservar y elevar la sanidad animal, vegetal y humana. A todos los trabajadores que laboran arduamente para que esta obra del Comandante continúe, brindando resultados de impacto para el pueblo cubano, les deseamos MUCHAS FELICIDADES.
